Background:
Kyabarungira Vocational secondary school is located in Kabagaga Village, Kyabarungira sub-county, in the Kasese district of Uganda. This area has had turmoil leading to prolonged poverty and education lagging behind.
The area/sub-county currently has nine primary schools and no secondary school. The Church of Uganda saw the need of a secondary school as most of the children would stop their education after completing primary levels because there wasn't any high school opportunities in the area. In light of this, the church decided to start Kyabarungira Vocational Secondary School to fill the gap in secondary education.
Despite the need for the school and the availability of students, the church and the community lacked support to put up furnished classrooms that will lead to successful teaching and learning process. This is when Classrooms for Africa was approached to assist.
The school needs six classrooms, two of which, will be also be used a multipurpose hall, office, science and computer laboratories.
