Background:

Sun Rise Kids Centre was started in 2018. The school is located at Nabiyagi Village, in Mukono District of Uganda.

The school was started with the aim of providing quality and affordable education to children in order to reduce the illiteracy levels in Nabiyagi village. Students were having to travel long distances to receive education as there was not a single Nursery and Primary school in the area.

The Director Lukeera Sofia saw the need and with her family donated 1 ½ acres of land on where temporary structures were built to act as classroom. Since then, there has been an increasing demand for more structures as the number of pupils has gone on increasing because parents have begun to understand the value of education. As of today, the school enrollment is about 155 pupils from Preschool to Grade 2.

Thanks for donors, a three classroom block was constructed with completion in January of 2024. This new block has been warmly welcomed by the community! Thank you donors.
