Some Recent Ugandan School Visits

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, travel to Uganda from Canada has been suspended. Fortunately, Classrooms for Africa has representatives in Uganda who visit schools to check progress, make recommendations and encourage the school communities.

In addition to our representative, Robert Sekisambu, two more Ugandan residents, Kevin and Michelle Sutton, have been visiting some of the schools. Thank you, Kevin and Michelle.

Star Nursery and Primary School - visited May 2021

Star Nursery and Primary School now has seven permanent classrooms constructed through Classrooms for Africa. They need three more classrooms for fill the required 10 classrooms for a primary school as well as an office/storage building. The photo above right show the building which will be renovated to house office space.

Jesus Cares Nursery and Primary School – visited February 2021

Above are the principal and administrative leaders of Jesus Cares Nursery and Primary School. One three classroom block was completed in 2020 (shown above). A second block is currently under construction. Classroom furniture was constructed locally for the new classrooms.

Hope Junior Christian School - - visited May 2021

At Hope Junior Christian School two three classroom blocks were completed in 2019 and 2020. A nursery classroom block was also constructed in 2020. One more classroom is needed to complete the required 10 primary classrooms, plus an administration/storage block.

Hope Comprehensive High School - visited May 2021

At Hope Comprehensive High School the first classrooms and office block were built in 2010. Since then, Classrooms for Africa has been involved in the construction of a girl’s dormitory block, a boy’s dormitory, more classrooms and a kitchen. Currently the Ray Sutton Legacy Project, a multi-purpose facility, is planned. For more information on this project click here, to donate click here.
